For most university graduates there is one thing on their mind, and that is how and where they can get their first chance of real world work experience in the field of their recently attained expertise. A corresponding challenge for numerous industries and organisations in Australia is obtaining the best and most recent skilled graduates to work for their organisations. This challenge and opportunity provided an opportunity and synergy between Cyient Australia and Western Sydney University.

Cyient is a global company and an acknowledged leader of engineering, manufacturing, data analytics, networks and operations solutions, whose New South Wales office is located in Blacktown.

Anthony Laria, a member of the WSU Alumni commenced the engagement back in October 2015 which has now flourished into a partnership hosting near enough to 20 WSU graduates.

This engagement would not have been successful without the hard work and support from Amy Gale, Wayne Fallon, Linda Nguyen, Ramya Acharya and Judy Holman
The new recruits have developed brilliantly and are now a critical part of our Wideband Design operation.

Internal Design Team Leader, Clarel Farla, has called the Western Sydney graduates: “Life-savers, who have hit the ground running and are always eager to learn new processes.”

Sravya Garlapati, a Computer Science graduate, who majored in Software, explained that since starting at Cyient she has taken up front end designing, which she did not think she would ever be involved in, but finds this new technology and career path something she really loves.

Cyient is proud of its initiative to give job opportunities back to graduates residing in Greater Western Sydney and to create strong ties with the local Western Sydney University. Cyient see this engagement as a real partnership in our local community. We hope to maintain our connection with Western Sydney University students and graduates into the future as our business continues to grow within Australia.
