Scope of Service

Developing a MOP layer to Effectively Integrate Advanced Metering Infrastructure and Outage Management Systems
We helped the client resolve performance degradation during storms and erroneous data by developing a Meter Outage Process as an intermediate layer that processes and filters the AMI data received and sends valid and useful information into the OMS
The client had been evaluating the way to “know a customer without power before they call”. As part of this, the customer integrated their AMI system with OMS. However, the client experienced performance degradation during storms; erroneous data was flowing into the OMS with data collision leading the loss of outage report.

Cyient helped the client to resolve the challenge by developing MOP as an intermediate layer which processes and filters the AMI data received and sends valid and useful information into the OMS. This allows AMI data availability to the OMS even during storms and large outages.

Cyient developed a MOP layer to effectively integrate AMI and OMS systems. The following are the key features of MOP:
- Filtered and required that the AMI information was sent to OMS, which helps in overcoming performance degradation issues during storm mode.
- Sending exact device information where the outage is, rather than sending all received meter events.
- AMI system is made available to OMS in storm & large outage modes.
