A future beyond the stratosphere
- An interesting shift in the last 2-3 decades that spurred a flurry of interest in space – the involvement of private players in the global space ecosystem. The future for space systems is exciting as the industry is still in a nascent phase, as compared to others. The apparent opportunity will come from upstream activities such as satellite manufacturing and launch, ground equipment and satellite operations. This will be fed by revenues generated from downstream opportunities such as satellite communications, mobile satellite services, earth observation services, position and navigation services, and much more.
- Space systems will influence our lives on the Earth and beyond. Exploration of other planets for habitation will be performed in conjunction with improved weather forecasting, precision positioning and tracking systems in farming, mining, and logistics, provision of better communication protocols at higher speeds, and improved defense systems, on the Earth.
