Deakin and Cyient sign a MoU for joint research on medical additive manufacturing

Melbourne, Australia, February 17, 2015 — Deakin University School of Engineering, a leading Australian university, and Cyient Ltd., a global provider of engineering, data analytics, networks and operations solutions, announced their collaboration on February 10th 2015by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for joint research on medical additive manufacturing.

The was signed by Professor Guy Littlefair, Head of School of Engineering, and Mr. Sanjay Krishnaa, Senior Vice President and APAC Head of Cyient. It is intended that the relationship between Cyient and Deakin University shall commence as a transactional collaboration and the parties may explore opportunities to subsequently advance into a model where Cyient will evolve as a major industry partner for Deakin University. Both parties have agreed to undertake the following activities during the term of this MoU:

  • Joint bidding and working on research grants
  • Research and consultancy services from Deakin University on specific and focused areas
  • Training and skill development of Cyient associates
  • Master's- and Doctoral-level projects for students of Deakin University
  • Use of Deakin University's facilities by Cyient on a preferred partner model
  • Jointly working on building horizontal (additive manufacturing, materials) and vertical (biomedical) solution accelerators

The partnership with Deakin University School of Engineering is aligned with Cyient's strong focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), and opens up immense possibilities for creating value together.

This alliance is a major milestone for Cyient and Deakin University in taking our relationship to the next level.
