Tokyo, 4th February 2015 – Cyient (formerly Infotech Enterprises) has appointed former Ambassador of India to Japan, Hemant Krishan Singh, to the board of Cyient K.K.—a wholly owned subsidiary of Cyient Limited (Hyderabad, India)—as an independent director. Ambassador Singh will also serve as an advisor to the Chairman of Cyient.

Ambassador Singh is a distinguished former career diplomat with extensive experience of geo-political and geo-economic issues as well as multilateral institutions which underpin international law and commerce.

He has been India's longest serving Ambassador to Japan (June 2006— December 2010), where he contributed to the forging of India-Japan strategic and global partnership. He previously served as Ambassador to Indonesia, overseeing the intensification of India's relations with ASEAN. He has held several significant assignments during his career, dealing with the United States, West Europe and the European Union and India's immediate neighbors.

Since 2011, Ambassador Singh has been associated with several public policy initiatives and strategic dialogues involving major think tanks of India, Japan and the U.S. He has written and worked extensively on the ongoing transformation of India's relations with Japan and the United States and their growing convergences in shaping Asia's emerging economic and security architecture.

Ambassador Singh will work closely with the Executive Chairman and senior management team at Cyient. A key focus for Ambassador Singh will be to interact with various stakeholders in Japan, especially on the subject of conducting business with India.

Welcoming the new director to the board, Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder and Executive Chairman, Cyient Limited, said: "I am extremely delighted that we have Ambassador Singh joining the Cyient K.K. board. Cyient established its Japan office in December 2008 and has continued to place strong focus on the market over the past six years. Ambassador Singh's experience in East Asia will establish a road map for Cyient's future in Japan."

As the former Indian envoy to Japan, Ambassador Singh is well versed with Japan's political institutions and corporate culture. Ambassador Singh's joining the board of Cyient Japan is an important step in the company's future expansion in the Japanese market.
