Senior Vice President & Business Head - Transportation

Leading complex, long cycle engineering businesses requires deep domain understanding, a practical experience of risk management and disciplined execution delivered in practice. Andrew Smith brings these to his role leading the Transportation business unit, where he is responsible for driving growth and delivering engineering solutions for clients operating in highly regulated, safety critical environments.

Over his nine year journey at Cyient, Andrew has held senior leadership roles across the Transportation and Semiconductor business units, driving strategy and execution across both portfolios. Prior to Cyient, he spent more than a decade at the forefront of engineering in the industries he now serves in senior leadership roles at Airbus, Rolls-Royce, and Bombardier Transportation.

What Andrew brings to this role is the credibility that only comes from having worked inside the products and systems his clients build. He understands the standards, the stakes, and the discipline that safety-critical engineering demands. He is known for bringing clarity and accountability to complex environments, and for leading with a focus that delivers results where ambiguity is not an option.

He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and a first-class Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
