Leadership team

As Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, Sukamal Banerjee is responsible for leading Cyient, Ltd. and serving on the company's Board of Directors. His mandate is clear: accelerate growth, deepen technology leadership, and position Cyient as the defining intelligent engineering company of its era.

Over 30 years, he has worked at the forefront of the ER&D and technology sector, rising through engineering and business leadership roles at one of the world's leading technology companies. He went on to run a multi-billion-dollar P&L across Digital and Engineering Services, overseeing operations spanning more than 35 countries and over 25,000 employees. He also incubated and built a global IoT business unit from the ground up, turning an emerging capability into a scaled, market-leading practice. Before joining Cyient, he served as CEO and Board Member of a leading digital engineering company, driving its transformation and growth agenda.

Sukamal is known in the industry as a leader who combines genuine engineering conviction with the commercial instincts to build businesses that last. With expertise spanning Digital, Industry 4.0, AI, ML across Communications, Semiconductor, Energy, Transportation, Automotive and Mobility, and Healthcare and Life Sciences, he has the breadth to lead a business of Cyient's ambition and complexity. He is widely regarded as a values-based leader who believes that disciplined execution, genuine care for people, and clarity of purpose are what separate good organisations from great ones.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Finance. An avid soccer fan and off-beat travel enthusiast, he brings the same restless curiosity to life outside work as he does to the industries he leads.
