Facility services leading global manufacturers, brings new jobs to Dallas-Fort Worth market
ARLINGTON, Texas – September 8, 2014 – Cyient, a global engineering, networking and operations solutions company, today announced the opening of its Dallas Engineering Center. The facility provides the company with a significant aerospace and defense presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Cyient currently services three leading global aerospace and defense manufacturers out of the new facility.
“Many of the world’s premier aerospace and defense companies have facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth market,” said Krishna Bodanapu, chief executive officer and managing director, Cyient India. “We intend to establish a long-term presence. Cyient’s operations here demonstrate our focus on strengthening client relationships, developing new prospects and contributing to global growth.”
“We selected Arlington due to its central location in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and because of its global reputation as a vibrant aerospace, defense and communications hub,” said Tom Edwards, president, Cyient North America. “We also look forward to tapping the exceptional talent pool. We expect to create and support more than 100 new jobs in the area through this facility.”
Additional rationale for the new facility includes a teaming agreement between Cyient and Triumph Aerostructures – Vought Aircraft Division, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Triumph Group, Inc. with operations in Dallas. The two companies collaborate to provide aerospace engineering services throughout the product lifecycle from design and analysis to manufacturing engineering, build, test and aftermarket services. These solutions span aero structures, interiors, mechanical systems and avionics. Cyient is the preferred engineering service provider for Triumph Aerostructures.
The Cyient Dallas Engineering Center will also provide engineering support services, including modeling and design, for other industries in addition to aerospace and defense. Cyient will utilize the new facility as an additional global delivery center to catalyze engineering innovations by supporting major investor-owned and municipal utilities, communications and semiconductor clients. It will also provide opportunities to engage with new talent through Cyient’s internship and college graduate programs.
“The investment from companies like Cyient in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area has a big impact on our local economy,” said Bruce Payne, Arlington’s Economic Development Manager. “By establishing the facility, Cyient will be adding valuable jobs to our community.”
The Cyient Dallas Engineering Center is located at 1401 Nolan Ryan Expressway, Arlington, Texas, adjacent to Triumph Aerostructures. The new facility, a total of 11,000 square feet, expands Cyient’s footprint to 15 locations throughout North America.
