Mr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder and Trustee, Cyient Foundation said, “As the world is transforming into the digital age, most information is now available in digital formats. Digital formats are enabling democratization of information which India needs to embrace. Such technologies can benefit and uplift the bottom of the pyramid by providing access to information resources and repositories irrespective of users’ status or location. Prime Minister Modi has voiced his vision of digitally empowered India in multiple forums. Cyient Foundation has been running multiple corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities in the education sector and has come forward to establish the first digital library of its kind. This digital library has been named after an outstanding former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who held education and children very close to his heart. The library will benefit more than 900 students of Akshara Vidyalaya in Saraswati Nagar, Venkatachalam Mandal, Nellore District, where most of the students come from nearby rural villages. We are delighted that Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Digital Library is being inaugurated by Hon. HRD Minister Smt. Smriti Irani in the presence of Hon. Minister for Urban Development Mr. Venkiayya Naidu “.
